Built in the workshop of 13-year luthier Jay Dickinson. Only one was made with a redwood top and maple sides. Primarily an acoustic guitar builder he wanted to bring the aesthetics and tone of an acoustic guitar into the electric world. This guitar has as much wood in it as possible. The only metal is in the pickup, knobs and tuners. This makes it lighter and more responsive. The edges are rounded throughout to give it a soft feel that is easy to wrap your arms around.
A special focus is given to quality in each guitar. If a flaw is found it is fixed and we use a microscope to look. The tuners are the best we can find, gotoh 510’s. The fretboard does not buzz and is made to be as flat and smooth as possible. We want this guitar to last generations. As such Jay gives a lifetime warranty with free repair and adjustment work.
A unique guitar with unique features. This is a small guitar with a 13” lower bout and a total length of 36”. Despite the size it has a huge tonal range. The hollow body gives it a nice high-end acoustic sound that is easy to hear. Two volume and tone knobs control two humbucker pickups that can be split to a p90. A wood bridge gives the acoustic sound a special crispness.
The saddle is not a regular compensated saddle. The intonation can be adjusted individually. There are extra compensated and easier adjustments than in a tune-o-matic bridge. There are multiple ways to easily adjust the action. A floating fingerboard allows for easier access to the high frets and allows the player to adjust the action. A key can be inserted into the heel stock and with a small twist the neck angle to the body changes.
